Judgment will come. What awaits us on Judgment Day

Abrahamic religions place great importance on the phenomenon of Judgment Day. There is a lot of discussion and writing about it, but what is it? Let's figure it out.

What is doomsday

No religion talks about the end of the world; this means finding a new life. For this reason, it is common to understand the end of days as the end of earthly existence.

Origin of the expression

The expression comes from many religious teachings and is found in different languages.

Among them:

  • Greek ή ήμέρα τής κρίδεως, “last judgment”;
  • Wed English Doomsday, “day of judgment”;
  • lat. iudicium universale, “universal court”;
  • German das jüngste Gericht, "the last judgment."

In Egyptian mythology, there is a well-known ritual of weighing on the scales the good and evil deeds of each person at the afterlife judgment in the face of Osiris. In the Old Testament traditions, the idea of the final and complete triumph of Yahweh was developed. With the spread of belief in the resurrection of the dead, the “day of Yahweh” is understood as the “Last Judgment.”

Meaning of the concept

In monotheistic religions, this is the final judgment, which will determine the fate of the righteous and sinners. The idea of the Last Judgment lies at the heart of eschatological teachings. For example, in Judaism the appearance of the final judgment consists in the resurrection of the dead in the flesh. Many Jewish prophets spoke about the resurrection, such as Daniel (Daniel), Ezekiel (Yehezkel) and others. In Islamic eschatology (Arabic: يوم القيامة - day of standing) means reward for all one’s deeds. In Christianity, the meaning of a phraseological unit is expressed in the cleansing of the Earth by the Almighty.

Mention in the Bible

The scriptures talk about the end of the world as a judgment event when sinners will go to the halls of hell and pure souls will move to a new life. The signs of the apocalypse of the apostles are also described, which predict an impending judgment based on the changed morals of people.

For example, Peter describes the “end times” as:

  • people's refusal to accept "common sense";
  • “aversion of hearing” from true teachings;
  • people become arrogant, proud and selfish;
  • children stop obeying their parents;
  • many slanderers, ungrateful people and flatterers appear.

Understanding the Apocalypse

The Testament sets out information about the harbingers of the Last Judgment: the very first angel, the Light Bringer, opposed himself to God, and then the Almighty brought him out of his environment. The end of the world is associated with the end of the Light Bringer.

In the Gospel of Matthew

The Gospel of Matthew says that the Ecumenical Judgment will mark the coming of Christ, revealed to all people. Before this event, humanity faces many troubles. The most important feature of the last days will be the preaching of the Gospel to all nations. False prophets and false Christs will try to entice people to follow them, and only loyalty to God will help the elect survive these terrible times.

The last day of the world is approaching unexpectedly. It is impossible to prepare for it in advance, so Jesus commands his disciples to always stay awake and ready for judgment. The indicators by which the destinies of people will be considered are described in the conversation about the Last Judgment:

“...what you did to people, you did to Me.”

Good done to people and mercy towards one's neighbor are the main criteria.

This video provides an interpretation of the 24th chapter of Matthew, dedicated to the description of the “last days.”

In the revelation of John the Evangelist

"Revelation" (Apocalypse) is considered the most famous ancient prophecy about the Day of Judgment. The disasters described in it are symbolic and warn of what is about to happen on Earth.

The Apocalypse states that after the seven trumpets of angels the following natural disasters begin:

  • death of a third of vegetation and marine life;
  • poisoning of earth's water bodies;
  • the fall of a flaming mountain, fire, hail and a luminous star to the earth;
  • defeat of the third part of the Sun;
  • eclipse of stars.

People will probably face hitherto unprecedented cataclysms. Some interpreters see in these descriptions indications of various environmental disasters. For example, the atmosphere is so polluted that sunlight can hardly penetrate it.

After death and famine, an angel will come into the world and crown the day of wrath. This event will be marked by a great earthquake, solar eclipses and a bloody moon. After this there will be silence, lasting a short time, and only then the real apocalypse will come.

In the revelation of John the Theologian, the signs of the Ecumenical Court are distinguished in the following stages:

  1. At first the grass and trees will burn.
  2. Afterwards, volcanic eruptions will occur.
  3. Then a “big star” will fall into the ocean and poison the water.
  4. After these events there will be many eclipses.
  5. Locusts will come out from the center of the Earth and begin to torment the infidel people for five days.
  6. At the end of these torments, the Kingdom of the Lord will open to those who remained on Earth.

When will Judgment Day come?

Speaking about scenarios of the last day and signs of its approach, there are two approaches to this problem: scientific and religious.

Prophecies of the Holy Scriptures

The biblical prophecy about the Ecumenical Judgment does not have an exact date, nor does it state that there will be a “last day.” In the Bible it means “the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” This day is called judgment day. He is spoken of in the book of Revelation, in the Gospel of Matthew, in the Epistles of Thessalonians and other books.

More than two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ was born on Earth. He came to this world to save all people. Because of this love for the human race, the Savior died, taking on all their sins so that they could be forgiven. The second time Jesus will come in great glory and power to carry out Judgment on people. The Savior will judge those who rejected him and deliver those who sincerely believed in him from torment.

There are a number of signs by which you can find out about the Day of Judgment. One of the key moments in the Bible is the coming of the Antichrist, and with him the rebellion against the Almighty will happen. It is during the reign of the servant of Satan that the second coming of Jesus will occur. He will destroy the Antichrist and condemn all those who followed him.

In Orthodoxy, biblical prophecy does not talk much about the end of the world. The information in different scriptures is very similar in meaning: they describe the harbingers of the Ecumenical Judgment, the coming of Jesus and the Antichrist. You must sincerely believe in the Savior and repent of your sins so as not to be condemned at the Last Judgment.

Predictions of other religions

Buddhist records contain information about significant changes in the planet: The higher powers that created the Earth will also destroy it. All people will face trials three times that will become a real threat to the survival of the human race. These periods are called kalpas.

Each of them has its own characteristics:

  1. Creation. At this time, a person tries to understand nature and learn the laws of its development.
  2. The flourishing of humanity. This is a period of great discoveries, amazing things will happen in it.
  3. Decay. The lower worlds fall apart, the world collapses, and then unfolds again without all life. At this time, only the higher worlds and Gods will be able to survive.

Before the end of days the earth will burn with fire. The flame will arise due to the appearance of seven suns in the sky. They will cause the destruction of all living things: the continents will be scorched and the waters will be dried up. After the departure of the seven suns, a strong wind will come that will destroy all the creations of people. Then the rains will begin, they will turn the planet into a large body of water, and new life will arise in it.

Islam also does not give an exact answer: Allah has chosen the date of the great day in advance, but no mortal can know it.

This is the main meaning of the coming judgment. Every person must be ready to appear before the face of Allah to answer for his actions.

The first signs of the approaching doomsday:

  • rejection of traditions;
  • frequent drinking;
  • horrific murder rate;
  • disappearance of justice;
  • frequent deception when weighing food on scales;
  • the proliferation of skyscrapers around the world;
  • evil people being in power.

When the day of judgment will happen is known only to Allah Almighty, but the Koran and hadiths write about omens and signs preceding this event.

Signs that the final judgment is very close:

  • The Mahdi will arrive on earth;
  • the Antichrist will come to the world of the living;
  • an unprecedented animal of large size will appear;
  • sunrise will occur in the west;
  • thick smoke will envelop the planet for forty days.

Scientific point of view

Scientists agree that life on the planet is not eternal. One day the Earth will be destroyed by the expanding Sun, but this will happen only after billions of years. An asteroid impact is often cited as the cause of the destruction of life on the planet.

One such asteroid (Apophis) will pass dangerously close to Earth in 2029. It will be captured by the planet's gravity with a probability of 1:45,000, in which case it will fall in 2036. The complete destruction of the human race will not happen, an area comparable in size to a European country will be erased, so " end of days "This cannot be considered.

Many scientists see a harbinger of the end of days in the activation of a supervolcano, which is located in the USA, in Yellowstone National Park. The awakening is indicated by the appearance of new geysers around it and tremors. At a volcanic eruption will turn part of the United States into desert and release a huge amount of ash.

Signs and signs of the end of the world

Almost all the prophets pointed not only to social and natural disasters , but also on the spiritual and moral fall of humanity. In Islam, two groups of omens are clearly distinguished: small and large.

Small

Ordinary signs do not attract strong attention from people, but they happen all the time and can appear either simultaneously or in turn.

Minor signs:

  1. Birth of the last Prophet Muhammad.
  2. War or clash between two great Muslim states.
  3. “The slave will give birth to her mistress.” There are several interpretations: the master will take a slave as his wife, or this is an indication that the children will stop listening to their parents. Another explanation is that the poor will be able to get rich quickly.
  4. People will begin to commit great sins.
  5. The spread of ignorance and the disappearance of real scientists. People will follow false scientists, loyalty and trustworthiness among people will disappear.
  6. The number of women relative to the number of men will increase greatly.
  7. Appearance of about 30 false prophets.
  8. The number of earthquakes will increase.
  9. Time will speed up. People will think that one thing can be done in one day. There is another interpretation: the emergence of high-speed transport.
  10. The number of murders will increase.
  11. There will be many rich people, so there will be no one to give Zakat to. Most people, especially believers, will lose the desire to live due to the abundance of sin around.
  12. The prophecy will end. First there will be a caliphate, then a kingdom, then an empire. Ideologists will arise, calling for themselves. They stand at the gates of hell and call into it. Faithful people will also appear, calling for them along the path of Islam.

Large

Among small signs, large ones may appear, accompanied by significant incidents.

Big signs:

  1. The appearance of the just leader of the Muslims, Magdi.
  2. The sun will rise in the west and set back to the west in the afternoon.
  3. The appearance of a talking animal.
  4. Big smoke covering all people.
  5. The appearance of Dajjal.
  6. Resurrection of Isa.
  7. The emergence of the Ya'dzhuzh and Ma'dzhuzh peoples.
  8. Three large earthquakes: in the west, in the east and in the Arab Peninsula.
  9. Raising the Quran: Allah will take away the sacred records the moment there are no believers left on the planet.
  10. There are no more believers on earth.
  11. A pleasant wind will blow, with it Allah will take the souls of the last believers, the Kaaba will disappear.
  12. In the area of Adana in Yemen, a large fire will arise, driving people to one place.

Horsemen of the Apocalypse

The harbingers of the apocalypse are symbols shown in Revelation. They personify the stages of history that people and the church must go through in their development. The prophecy speaks of seven seals sealing the book. It is believed that after the last seal is broken, the hour of the Last Judgment will come.

They are described on different horses:

  1. A rider on a white horse, and in his hands a bow. A symbol of purity and a sign of victory over paganism. With his appearance, the first seal is broken. In the 1st century, the church forced people to accept Christianity. A period of confrontation with lies and deception.
  2. The red horse will appear with the removal of the second seal. Symbolizes disputes between God's children. This period dates back to the time of the hunt for Christians. As a result of the church's attempts to convert every person, the Lessons of Scripture lost their purity, and the horseman's prophecy came true: people began to kill each other.
  3. The black horse opens the third seal. In his hand he has a measure. Symbol of decline. The enemies achieved their goal, worship of God and faith in the Savior disappeared into obscurity.
  4. When the fourth seal was opened, a pale horse appeared, whose name was Death. Hell followed him; he was given the power to kill all living things on earth. The pale horse is believed to represent the decline of the church. The teachings of Christ were distorted, and those who did not want to follow the changed doctrines were executed.

Doomsday predictions

All famous prophets talk about the appearance of the Antichrist in the world and the second coming of the Savior. On this day, good will triumph over evil.

Amos

Amos predicted very dark consequences for believers when God came to earth. He assured that the appearance of the Almighty would be a phenomenon not of light, but of darkness, horror for all living, for the divine judgment would be extremely severe. The coming of Christ was predicted by the prophet as the return of the tabernacle of David (literally translated, the tabernacle is a “tent,” that is, a narrow circle of true believers).

About this day he says:

“...I will walk among you...”

The Prophet addresses himself with the hope that the Day of Judgment will be the end of all life. He predicts that judgment will be carried out on all people, regardless of their morality.

Hosea

Hosea (IV century BC) - biblical prophet. He lived and prophesied in the kingdom of Israel during the time of King Jeroboam II:

“... oath and deceit, murder and theft, and adultery have become extremely widespread, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. For this reason this land will mourn, and all who live on it will faint, including the beasts of the field and the birds of the air, even the fish of the sea will perish.”

He talks about the Last Day that will happen at the end of time. The prophet claims that the end of days will be a sign of the victory of good over evil, and even death will be defeated.

Zechariah

Zechariah is one of the twelve minor prophets. Born during the Babylonian captivity, he survived it and, upon returning from it, contributed greatly to the moral revival of the people. The prophet owns a special Old Testament book that bears his name.

The Prophet Zechariah views the Last Judgment as being taken into captivity and the opportunity to return from it. In his book, he talks about the day when people will turn to the Almighty, and He will save them. The prophet largely repeats Second Isaiah, emphasizing that the Messiah will free the Israelites from captivity. In the last days of life, all nations will believe in the true God and turn to Him.

Malachi

Malachi is a minor biblical prophet, the last of the Old Testament prophets. Lived in the 5th century BC. He says that before the divine coming begins, Elijah, the messenger of God, will bring news about it. It is believed that Elijah refers to John the Baptist, who predicted the appearance of Jesus:

“...for behold, the day will come, burning like an oven; Then all the arrogant and those who do wickedly will be like stubble, and the coming day will burn them up, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.”

Wangi

Back in 1971, Vanga spoke about the dramatic and drastic changes that would occur in the life of society in the near future:

“...in the near future there will be big changes in people's lives. People will change beyond recognition. New times are marked by many signs... Cities and villages will collapse from floods and earthquakes, the earth will shake from natural disasters, bad people will gain the upper hand, and informers, thieves and harlots will be countless.”

Other prophets and saints

Micah predicted the beginning of the apocalypse as the first appearance of the Lord, whom no one had previously seen or could see in all His essence. The greatness of the divine essence will be so great that “even the mountains will thaw.”

Isaiah directly predicted the coming of Christ. The Prophet said that the Almighty would send his son to earth in the form of a man, and a god-man would be born from an immaculate virgin, a descendant of King David. On the day of the Ecumenical Judgment, the world will be renewed, all evil and violence will disappear, and goodness will reign forever. In the new world, the wolf will get along with the lamb. Isaiah argued that not only representatives of the chosen people are subject to salvation, but also any pagan who believes in the true God and breaks with sinful errors.

What happens after the apocalypse

Revelation says that nothing familiar to people will remain after the apocalypse. A new heaven and a new earth will appear after the struggle between good and evil. Some prophets said that the sky used to be purple and the leaves on the trees were not green, but after the flood the world changed. All people who find true faith will be transported to the Kingdom of the Lord, and those who reject true faith will experience extreme suffering and torment. These people are doomed to suffer for the rest of their days in darkness, in a world without light, where there is neither the Moon nor the Sun.

Video

This video provides a detailed description of the Last Judgment.

59. There are signs of the Last Hour, both large and small. Some of them are mentioned by Allah in His Book and clearly explained by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Of the major signs: Animal of the earth91; the descent of the Messiah Isa, son of Mariam, from heaven to earth, in Damascus,92 from where he will rule, in accordance with the Koran, break the cross, kill a pig and renounce the jizya93; the emergence of Ad-Dajjal, Yajuj and Majuj94; eruption of fire in Aden, which will drive people to the gathering place95 (on the Day of Judgment).
60. Small signs of the Last Hour: shortening of time, spread of disasters and bloodshed,96 numerical superiority of women over men,97 war between Muslims and Jews.98 o Uniting Muslims and Christians in the battle against the Jews, and then a war between Muslims and Christians, which ended in the defeat of the latter.99
(98 Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Last Hour will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews again. The Muslims will defeat them until the Jews hide behind stones and trees, and the stones and trees will say: “O Muslim! O servant of Allah! The Jew is hiding behind me! Come and kill him.” (Only) the gharqad tree will be silent, for it is the tree of the Jews.” Muslim, vol. IV, p. 1510.
99 Zi Makhmur reported: “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “The Rums (Christians) will enter into a peace treaty with you, together with them you will attack the enemy and defeat him, take the booty and return calmly to a place in the hilly land of pastures. A man from the people of the cross will raise his cross and say: “The cross gave victory.” Following this, one Muslim will rise up in anger and kill him. After this, the Romans will break the treaty and gather for battle." Ibn Majah, 36/35.)

"Prophecies about the approaching end of the world"
The book contains more than fifty prophecies of the Prophet Muhammad about the approaching end of the world,

Fifty-second sign: an increase in the number of descendants of Rum and the battle of Muslims with Christians
Al-Mustawarad al-Qurashi reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “When the Hour of Judgment comes, most of the people will be the descendants of Rum.” "Amr ibn al-"As told him: “Think what you say.” He replied: “I say what I heard from the Messenger of Allah.” Then “Amr said: “If so, then they have four qualities. They show unprecedented endurance during trials, rise faster than others after disasters, return faster than others after fleeing, and treat the poor, orphans and helpless better than others. They have They also have a fifth excellent quality: they are more protected than others from the injustices of their rulers.”
Let every Muslim think about the words of the wise companion of the Prophet. How often do people ask why Christians are better off than Muslims? And how rarely do they think about how rarely they themselves help the poor and helpless. Every person achieves what he strives for, and everyone gets what he deserves. And as long as Muslims continue to ignore the commands of their Lord and refuse to help those in need, they will be in a much worse position than some polytheists and infidels.
Nafi" ibn "Utbah said that he remembered how the Messenger of Allah said: “You will fight for the Arabian Peninsula, and Allah will help you conquer it. Then you will fight the farces and Allah will help you overcome them. Then you will fight the Romans and Allah will help you defeat them. Then you will fight the False Messiah, and Allah will help you defeat him.”
Thus, the Messenger of Allah predicted a bloody battle with the Romans, which would occur shortly before the appearance of the False Messiah.
Abu Malik al-Ash'ari said that the Messenger of Allah said: “Before the onset of the Hour of Judgment, expect six events: ... a truce between you and the descendants of Asfar, after which they will treacherously attack you with 80 banners, under each of which there will be twelve thousand warriors "
Abu Dawud narrated a hadith in which it is reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “You will make peace with the descendants of Rum and fight together against a common enemy. You will prevail, capture rich booty, and peace will come. However, on the way back, disagreements will arise between you. One of the Christians will climb the hill, raise the cross and shout: “The cross has won!” One of the Muslims will get angry and throw the cross down. After this, the Romans will retreat and begin to prepare for a bloody battle." One version of the hadith says: "The Muslims will take up weapons and will die. Allah will grant these Muslims martyrdom."
Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “The Day of Judgment will not come until the descendants of Rum enter Amaq or Dabiq. An army from Medina will go to meet them, and these will be the best people of those times. When they line up, the descendants of Rum will say: “Leave us, and we will fight only with those who came from our midst and now scold us.” The Muslims will answer: “We swear by Allah that we will never leave our brothers alone with you.” ". This is how the battle begins. A third of the Muslim army will die, and Allah will never forgive them. Another third of the Muslims will die, and they will become the best of the fallen martyrs. And a third of Muslims will become winners who will never be punished. They are the ones who will conquer Constantinople. When they divide the spoils of war, they will hang their swords on olive trees. And at this time Satan will shout: “The false messiah has attacked your families!” They will set out, but the news will turn out to be a lie. When they reach Sham, the False Messiah will indeed appear. They will prepare for battle and line up in ranks. Then they will announce the beginning of the prayer, and then “Isa ibn Maryam” will descend.
Yasir ibn Jabir said that one day a red wind blew in Kufa, after which a certain husband came running to them. He did not pay attention to the intense heat and shouted: “O Abdullah ibn Masud! Judgment Day has arrived! “Abdullah lay with his elbows, but when he saw the man, he got up and sat down. Then he said: “The day of judgment will not come until the hour strikes when the Muslims will not be able to share the inheritance and rejoice in the spoils of war.” Then he pointed with his hand towards Sham and said, “The enemy will unite against the Muslims, and the Muslims will unite against him.” Yasir asked, “Do you mean the Romans?” He replied: "Yes. Before this battle, many Muslims will apostatize their faith. But the faithful will send forward an army that will fight either to death or to victory. The battle will continue until darkness falls, and no one will be able to gain the upper hand. But the ranks of the Muslims will thin out, and then they will send forward a second army, which will also intend to fight either to death or to victory. The battle will also continue until darkness falls, and also no one will be able to gain the upper hand. The ranks of the Muslims will thin out again, and then they will send forward a third army , which also intends to fight either to death or to victory. The battle will also continue until the evening, and also no one will be able to gain the upper hand. The Muslim army will again suffer significant losses. On the fourth day, the remaining Muslims will rush into battle, and by the will of Allah, the Christians will defeated. This will be a battle that humanity has never known before. Even a bird will not have time to fly over the battlefield without falling dead. Out of a family of one hundred people, only one will survive. Will they rejoice at the spoils? Will they share the inheritance? This is the state the victorious Muslims will be in, and then they will hear the cry: “The false messiah has attacked your children!” They will throw away everything in their hands and set off. They will send ten horsemen ahead. The Messenger of Allah said: “I I know their names, the names of their fathers and the colors of their horses. In those days they will be the best riders or one of the best."

Fifty-third sign: the conquest of Constantinople
Abu Hurayra said that the Prophet asked: “Have you heard about a city, part of which is located on water, and part on land?” The people replied: “We heard, Messenger of Allah.” Then he said: “The hour of judgment will not come until seventy thousand descendants of Isaac conquer this city. They will approach him and stop. They will not fight with weapons in their hands and will not shoot with a bow. They will say: "La ilaha illallah! Wallahu akbar!" - and one part of the fortress walls will collapse. Then they will say for the second time: “La ilaha illallah! Wallahu akbar!” - and another part of the fortress walls will collapse. Then they will say for the third time: “La ilaha illallah! Wallahu akbar!” - and the road will open before them. They will enter the city and seize rich booty. But when they begin to divide the spoils, they will hear the cry: “The False Messiah has appeared!” Then they will abandon everything and go back.”
Thus, shortly before the coming of the False Messiah, Muslims will make peace with Christians, but they will treacherously violate its terms and attack Muslims. They will want to fight the Muslim converts who were once their misguided co-religionists. The Muslims will gather a huge army, which, after four days of bloody battles, will gain the upper hand. Then the seventy-thousand-strong Muslim army, which will include the descendants of Ishaq who converted to Islam, will conquer Constantinople without a fight, which by that time will be in the hands of the infidels.

Fifty-fourth sign: battle with the Jews
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet said: “The hour of judgment will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews. The Muslims will kill them, so that the Jews will hide behind stones or trees, and the stones and trees will say: “O Muslim! O servant of Allah! There is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him!” And only the Gharkad tree will not do this, because it is a Judean tree.”
During the life of the Messenger of Allah, Muslims fought with the Jews more than once, and during the reign of Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, they expelled them from the Arabian Peninsula. Thus, they fulfilled the will of the Prophet Muhammad, who said: “I would certainly expel all Jews from the Arabian Peninsula and Christians and would not leave anyone in these lands except Muslims." This hadith was narrated by Muslim. However, the prophecy reported in the hadith of Abu Hurayra in no way refers to these and subsequent battles between Muslims and Jews. It says that what will happen after the appearance of the False Messiah and the descent of Isa ibn Maryam.

A. A. Ali-zade (Abdulla Ali)
ESCHATOLOGY OF ISLAM

A special place in the Islamic tradition is occupied by one of the main events heralding the end of the world - the coming of the Dajjal and the events that follow. The Prophet Muhammad said about this false prophet: “There was no prophet who did not warn about his appearance” (Bukhari, Fiten 27; Muslim, Fiten 100-103, /169/-/2933/). This hadith is narrated with reference to Ibn Omar.

The coming of Dajjal will take place during a grueling war that the righteous will wage against their enemies. This applies primarily to the war between Muslims and Romans. The last war will be one of the most dramatic in human history. There are many hadiths about this from Muslim and Bukhari. For example, a hadith narrated by Abu Huraira says that as a result of this war, the Muslims will win and occupy the City (possibly Constantinople). Having captured the city, the Muslims will hear a false rumor started by the Shaitan that the Dajjal has taken possession of their families. As a result of this, they will return back. But, having reached Sham (Damascus), they will hear that the Romans are again preparing for war (Muslim, Fiten 34, /2897/).
The above hadith from Fatima further notes that “he (Dajjal) will come from the East.”

It is possible that his faithful and fanatical followers will be Jews. This is supported by the hadith of the prophet (transmitted by Ibn Omar) about the battle that will take place between Muslims and Jews, and will end in victory for the former. This hadith is given in several authoritative collections (Bukhari, Jihad 94, Menakib 25; Muslim, Fiten 79, /2921/; Tirmidhi, Fiten 56, /2237/).
...
for all good deeds done by people who were not Muslims, Allah rewards with good in this world. But there, on the day of Judgment and subsequent Eternal Life, they will all find that the page on which their good deeds should have been recorded will be empty.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) reported: “ Signs of Doomsday(kiyamata) are as follows:

1. Knowledge will be lost.

2. The number of ignorant people will increase.

3. Adultery and homosexuality will spread.

4. Drunkenness will become widespread.

5. There will be more women than men. It will get to the point where one man will have fifty women at his disposal.”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “ Before the Day of Judgment, the following events will occur, and only after them will Qiyamah begin:

1. There will be more infectious diseases.

2. Bayt al-Muqaddas (the holy shrine at Al-Quds) will be opened.

3. Deaths will increase.

4. The Mumins will take over the whole world and sign agreements with the Byzantines and Christians. After this, the unbelievers will break the agreement and gain the upper hand. When turmoil and enmity penetrate my ummah, they will not leave it until the Day of Judgment. After this, Qiyamat will come.”

Hadith experts say: “The Byzantines will come out first and unite with the Franks. All unbelievers will agree among themselves and attack from the west with eighty banners. Twelve thousand people will be gathered under each banner. Thus, the army of the disbelievers will consist of nine hundred and sixty thousand warriors. That is, there will be only forty thousand people less than a million.

You should know that first the Ummah of Muhammad (may the Almighty bless him and greet him) will take over the east and the west. Three cities will remain: Constantinople, Rome and the fortress of Ammouria (Amorion). After this, power will pass to non-believers. They will gain superiority thanks to the Romans and other Christians.

From the abandonment of Constantinople by the Romans to the conquest of this city by the Muslims, seven years would pass.

Sawban conveys the following narration:

The Messenger said: “From the highest point of the Earth created by Allah, I saw its extreme points in the east and west. And my ummah will reach even greater heights than the heights of this earth.”

Ibn Kathir says: “In ancient times, when Bukhtun-Nasar (Nebuchadnezzar) ruled Persia, he destroyed Al-Quds (Jerusalem). Constantinople saw this destruction and said: “If the Arsh of the Almighty is on the surface of the water, then I am on the water.” Allah Almighty became angry and commanded: “Hey, proud one! In the last times I will destroy you by the hands of My believing servants.”

The Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “ Judgment Day will not come until the Banu al-Asfar (Byzantines and the yellow race) reach Amak" Amak is a village not far from Sham. When the unbelievers reach these places, the army of Islam, consisting of three detachments, will leave Medina. The disbelievers will fight fiercely. Some Muslims will flee and become munafiks. The other part will be killed by enemies. They will become the most worthy of the martyrs.

A third of Muslims will become winners. They will drive out the unbelievers. After this, seventy thousand people from the descendants of the Prophet Ishak (peace be upon him) will come and take Istanbul with the words: “La ilaha illallah, Allahu akbar.” First, the walls on the sea side will be destroyed. After this, another fortress wall will fall. As a result, all three fortress walls will fall to the sound of takbir.

When the Muslims are collecting trophies, the Shaitan will shout: “Hey, Mumin! The Dajjal has appeared and is destroying your houses.” After this, they will leave Istanbul and return to Sham. Later the people will begin to do wicked deeds. If they trust each other, they will definitely betray them. They will not pay zakat. There will be few people reading namaz. People will try to deprive each other of faith.

The whole people will rush for earthly riches. Men will submit to the authority of women. Children will turn against their fathers and mothers. Friends will begin to offend each other. Worldly issues will be discussed in mosques. Later generations of the Ummah will curse their predecessors.

After this, the Almighty will show them the red carpet. There will be frequent earthquakes in the world. Lunar and solar eclipses will become more frequent. People will stop honoring the true faith, the Koran and Sunnah. Then signs of the Day of Judgment will begin to appear one after another.

There was disagreement among Islamic scholars regarding the signs of the Day of Judgment. Abdullah bin Umar said: “I heard from the Messenger of Allah that The first sign of the approaching Judgment Day will be the appearance of the yellow race. And then - sunrise in the west. (According to hadiths, the first sign will be the appearance of smoke in the east). The third sign is the appearance of the Dajjal.

These are the early signs of Qiyamat. After this the Mahdi will come. Umm Salama said: “I heard from the Messenger of Allah that the Mahdi is a Sayyid, from the descendants of Fatima.”

Abu Said al-Khudri says: “The Prophet said: “The Mahdi is from me. He will appear near the end of times and will rule with justice. Before this, despots (zalims) kept the whole world under oppression. Mahdi will rule the world with goodness and truth for seven years.”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “ Din (Islam) began with us and will end again with us. If any of you live to see that time and see its signs, follow him. For the Mahdi is merciful and has himself been blessed».

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him):

Rasulullah ordered: “After me, twelve caliphs will come, and all of them will be from the Quraish tribe.”

From the book "Anvarul-ashikyn"

"Allah's command will come, don't try to rush it"

Allah Almighty said:

“People ask you about the Hour: “When will it come?” Why do you need to mention this? Only your Lord knows about this. Verily, you are but a warning warner to those who fear it. On the day they see him, it will seem to them that they have spent only an afternoon or a morning in this world." .

“They ask you about the Hour: “When will it come?” Say: “Indeed, the knowledge of this belongs only to my Lord. No one but Him is able to reveal the time of its occurrence. This knowledge is heavy for heaven and earth. It will come suddenly.” They ask you as if you know about it. Say: “Indeed, the knowledge of this belongs to Allah alone, but most people do not know it.” .

There are many Quranic verses and hadiths regarding the topic of the Day of Judgment. Allah said:

“The Hour has come, and the month has split apart” .

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“Between me and Doomsday is like between these two.” And showed his two fingers (Bukhari).

Allah said:

“The settlement with them has approached the people, but they turn away with disdain” .

“The command of Allah will come, and do not try to rush it. Glorious is He and above what they associate as partners!” .

“Those who do not believe in him are in a hurry with him. And believers tremble before him and know that he is the truth. Verily, those who argue about the Hour are in deep error." .

According to legend, Anas bin Malik (r.a.) once a Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of the Almighty be upon him) and asked: - O Messenger of Allah! When is Judgment Day? To which the Prophet (peace and blessings of the Almighty be upon him) asked a counter question: - What have you prepared for the Day of Judgment? - Love for Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of the Almighty be upon him) The Messenger of Allah said with admiration: - Truly this is wonderful, for on the Day of Judgment a person will be with the one he loves.

The Day of Judgment and the time of its occurrence is a mystery of Allah Almighty, no one knows this. There are many things that the One Who has all knowledge knows, but five stand out among them:

  1. No one knows when the hour of Judgment will come except Allah.
  2. No one knows when, where and how much rain will fall from the sky except Allah.
  3. No one knows for sure what happens in the womb of a pregnant woman except the Almighty.
  4. No person knows what tomorrow will bring him and what his future awaits, except Allah.
  5. No one except Allah Almighty knows on what earth, when and how his life in this world will end.

“Verily, only Allah has knowledge of the Hour, sends down rain and knows what is in the wombs. No man knows what he will gain tomorrow, and no man knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is Knowing, Knowing." .

When Gabriel came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of the Almighty be upon him) in the guise of a Bedouin and asked him about Islam, iman and ihsan, the Prophet answered his questions. However, when he asked him about the End of the World, the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) answered him: “The one who is asked knows about it no more than the one asking [I know no more about it than you].” When Gabriel asked about his signs, the Messenger (peace and blessings of the Almighty be upon him) replied: “The slave will give birth to her mistress; and you will see barefoot, naked and [spiritually] poor shepherds of sheep [formerly such] competing in the construction of tall buildings.”

Huzaifa reported: “Once we talked with the prophet (peace be upon him), and he told about everything that would happen before the Hour, and did not hide anything. Some have learned these signs, others have forgotten. I don’t remember them all, but sometimes they come to mind, just as a person remembers a long-forgotten person when he sees him again” (Abu Dawud, Muslim).

Belief in the Day of Judgment is one of the main pillars of iman in Islam, that is, every believer must be convinced that this moment will come sooner or later. On that day, all people will be resurrected and will be gathered in one place before Allah, who will judge His servants according to their deeds in earthly life.

About the onset of the Day of Judgment in Surah “Earthquake” it is said:

“When the earth trembles with tremors, when the earth casts out its burden, and man asks what has happened to it, on that day she will tell her story, because your Lord will tell it to her. On that day people will come out in droves to see their deeds. Anyone who has done good, weighing the smallest particle, will see it. And the one who did evil weighing the smallest particle will see it" (Quran, Sura 99)

The exact date of the Day of Retribution is known only to the Almighty, and it will come only with the permission of the Lord of the worlds, as stated in one of the verses of Scripture:

“Say: “Indeed, the knowledge of this belongs only to my Lord” (7:187)

However, the Quranic verses and hadiths contain information about signs of the onset of Judgment Day, let's look at some of them in more detail.

1. The sunrise is not in the east, but in the west

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) once said: “The Hour will not come until the sun rises in the west” (Bukhari).

2. The appearance of Dajjal

Before the Day of Judgment, a person will appear on earth whose name will be (in the biblical tradition Antichrist). Dajjal is a false messiah who will appear on Earth before the onset of Judgment Day. Sinners all over the world will follow him and praise him. Muhammad (s.g.w.) said that the most terrible phenomenon in the entire history of mankind would be the appearance of the Dajjal.

3. The second coming of Prophet Isa (a.s.)

After the appearance of Dajjal, to confront the forces of evil, the real Messiah will descend to Earth - Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him), whom Allah will direct to destroy Dajjal and his supporters. The hadith says: “The Almighty will send Isa, the son of Maryam, to the people, who will lay his hands on the wings of two angels and descend to earth” (Muslim).

4. Invasion of the Yajuj and Majuj tribes

After Prophet Isa (a.s.) defeats the Dajjal, tribes will invade the Earth, which the believers led by Prophet Isa (a.s.) will not be able to cope with. Allah will tell Isa (a.s.) to shelter Muslims from these tribes who will destroy everything in their path. After the believers manage to take refuge, the Lord will destroy Yajuj and Majuj.

5. The disappearance of morality and ethics

After the coming of Prophet Isa (a.s.), he will live on Earth for forty years and then die. After his death, difficult times will come on Earth, as stated in the following hadith: “And the worst of people will remain, who will copulate in public like donkeys, and the Hour will come with them” (Muslim).

6. The appearance of smoke, beasts, giant holes in the earth and fire in Yemen

One of the hadiths highlights a number of signs, among which the above events were named.

The signs listed here, as a rule, are considered to be the main (major) signs of the Day of Retribution. Along with them, there are also small signs:

1) The appearance of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.)

One of the hadiths says: “I was sent at a time when the Day of Judgment was as close to them as two fingers” (Tirmidhi).

2) The emergence of false prophets

The hadith narrates: “The hour of judgment will not come until thirty liars appear among my followers, each of whom will claim to be a prophet” (Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud). Let us recall that after the death of the Messenger of the Almighty (s.g.v.), false prophets appeared in Arabia, posing as the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds, the most famous among whom are Musailima, Tulayha, Sajah.

3) Spread of adultery

The final Messenger of God (s.g.v.) said that before the Day of Judgment, people will appear in the Muslim Ummah who will become zealous in committing adultery.

4) Transformation of the deserts of Arabia into fruitful gardens

One of the hadiths says: “The hour of judgment will not come until the Arab land is again transformed into pastures through which rivers flow” (Muslim).

5) Excessive decoration of mosque buildings

The Prophet (s.a.w.) said that before the Day of Retribution, people will begin to compete not in their piety and morality, but in the decoration of the mosques they built.

6) Children will begin to boss their parents around.

The mercy of the worlds Muhammad (s.g.w.) said: “A slave will give birth to a mistress” (Bukhari). Muslim scholars interpret this hadith by arguing that before the Day of Retribution, children will stop obeying and even begin to lead their parents.

7) A sharp imbalance between men and women

The Messenger of the Gracious and Merciful (s.g.v.) said that one of the signs of the Hour will be a sharp increase in the number of women and a sharp decrease in the number of men. “It will come to the point that fifty women will have only one guardian” (Bukhari, Muslim).

8) Time acceleration

Muhammad (s.w.w.) instructed: “The Day of Judgment will not come until time speeds up” (Ahmad). In this case, it is implied that people will cease to value the time they have.

9) Destruction of the Kaaba

Before the Day of Judgment comes, Mecca will be destroyed. God's Prophet (s.g.w.) said: “The Kaaba will be destroyed by a short-legged Ethiopian” (Ahmad).

10) Disappearance of religious knowledge

Another sign of the onset of the Day of Retribution will be the disappearance of knowledge relating to religion, as stated in the following hadith: “Before the onset of the Hour of Judgment, religious knowledge will disappear, ignorance will spread” (Bukhari, Muslim).
